about
The Teaching was invited by John Gilbreath to be featured in the Earshot Jazz "Art of Jazz" series, live at the Seattle Art Museum. The concert took place on June 11, 2009 and music that came out was magical. The event was recorded by Jim Wilke and played live on KPLU 88.5 jazz radio station. It has since been mastered by Ian Campbell, giving additional sparkling sound quality to the inspired musical performance. This is Disc 1, which contains the 1st set live and uncut.

Featuring keyboardist Josh Rawlings, bassist Evan Flory-Barnes, and and percussionist Jeremy Jones, The Teaching creates ... more immersive and infectious improvised music as no one else in Seattle is making it. The trio formed in 2006, growing exclusively from the chemistry the band discovered on stage. less
